Come experience a rare evening at the California Academy of Sciences – on a Friday, no less! – and enjoy free live jazz music by the renowned Tammy Hall Trio as you explore the wondrous exhibits.
The San Francisco Housing Development Corporation (SFHDC) is celebrating its 30th anniversary with our Power in Numbers awards gala, and invites you to share the stunning Cal Academy space from 8 p.m. to midnight on Friday, May 11. The $35 event admission includes one ticket for a complimentary drink and dessert, with proceeds benefiting SFHDC’s mission of providing affordable housing services to low-income communities of color in San Francisco. Must be age 21 or older to attend.
Tour the highly popular Cal Academy when it is normally closed to visitors, and view such exciting exhibits as the Steinhart Aquarium, Color of Life and Tusher African Hall. Even more, take a visual journey with the Morrison Planetarium’s impressive shows, Expedition Reef and Incoming! Guests will also have the chance to bid on a range of interesting items in SFHDC’s silent auction.
Ringing in Mother’s Day weekend, the event will feature entertainment provided by the all-female Tammy Hall Trio, including Bay Area-based artist Tammy L. Hall (piano, vocals), Ruth Davies (bass) and Ruth Price (drums).
