Teresa class

Our program meets people where they are, supports them in identifying financial goals, as well as potential obstacles and opportunities, and offers appropriate strategies, services and products to get them where they want to go. Participants work with an Intake Specialist to assess their current financial health and create a personal financial action plan. Through our variety of services, our Financial Empowerment Center is able to assist around 750 low- and middle-income households set and achieve their financial goals each year.

First Time Homebuyer Workshop

Each month, SFHDC offers an in-depth pre-purchase homebuyer workshop designed to inform renters about the entire home buying process. We teach you about the financial and other benefits of owning your own home, and what steps you need to take to prepare for it. It is likely to be one of the biggest investments you will ever make; we can help ensure you do it based on an informed decision. Our workshop is a necessary step to qualify for Below Market Rate homes and down-payment assistance available to you through local government agencies. You could be eligible to receive $140,000-$200,000 or more in down-payment assistance. Registration begins at 9 am two weeks prior to each First Time Homebuyer Workshop.
