Congratulations to the First Minding My Black-Owned Business Cohort!

Acceptance list for the Summer 2022 Cohort

With 316 applications to the inaugural cohort of the Minding My Black-Owned Business mini-grant and educational program, we were inspired by both the level of interest and the quality of the applications. Let’s celebrate the achievement of this first group of 32 entrepreneurs, while we support and empower them to launch or expand their wide-ranging businesses.

As this is a pilot program, our top priority is servicing our first cohort of businesses and entrepreneurs with the utmost care.  We look forward to reporting on the results of this inaugural cohort.  However even as we move forward with this group we are seeking funding sources for future cohorts. If you, your company, or your organization are interested in being part of this program’s future and would like to learn more about how you can be involved in funding this project, please contact Pia Harris at pia.harris@sfhdc.org.

Funding for this program is made possible through the financial support of the Dream Keeper Initiative, the Human Rights Commission, and the Office of Economic and Workforce Development.

        More From The Hub

        San Francisco’s Black-Led Marketplace

A new retail experience in the heart of The Fillmore District.  Coming this Fall!

The Black-Led Marketplace is an initiative by SFHDC’s Fillmore Small Business Empowerment Hub (“The Hub”). The Hub was founded to assist neighborhood entrepreneurs in obtaining technical assistance related to business plans, licenses and permits, marketing and communications, and renting affordable spaces so they can offer goods and services that are culturally relevant to their communities. Slated to open in the Fall of 2022,  the marketplace will be offering affordable retail space in the Fillmore District to Black-owned businesses.
