San Francisco Housing Development Corporation (SFHDC) – a 33-year-old housing and community development corporation– seeks an experienced Grant and Technical Assistance Manager to help launch and run new programming for small businesses assistance in the Fillmore/Western Addition.
Reporting to the Program Director, the Grant and Technical Assistance Coordinator will be responsible for managing the delivery of grants and technical assistance to small businesses receiving services at the Fillmore Small Business Empowerment Hub. This position works directly on tasks related to delivery of client services and entrepreneur engagement. The successful candidate excels at written and verbal communication, as the position will provide technical assistance to small businesses to help ensure their success in achieving development milestones. The successful candidate will have experience providing technical assistance to entrepreneurs in the areas of business development, finance, marketing, and grant and loan applications. The successful candidate will also have experience delivering mini-grants to small businesses.
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor the implementation of grants directed at small businesses participating in SFHDC’s “Minding My Black-Owned Business” business development program;
- Ensure compliance with programmatic and fiscal requirements of our funder(s);
- Provide ongoing, one-on-one technical assistance on an as-needed basis to businesses seeking services;
- Teach workshops related to concept development, business planning, and financial planning;
- Proactively identify and resolve work-flow issues to improve the delivery of services to small businesses;
- Review weekly coursework assignments and provide feedback to participants;
- Complete other administrative tasks as needed.
- Superior knowledge of best practices for business development, and past experience delivering technical assistance to small businesses;
- Superior interpersonal skills (over the phone, via email, and in-person);

- Lived experience or prior professional experience working within communities of color is highly valued;

WORK SCHEDULE: Project-based position requiring a commitment of 35 hours per week. Depending on the project’s needs, you may be required to work after regular hours, including evenings and weekends. Minimum one-year commitment.
SALARY: The anticipated salary range for this role is $75,000 – $80,000, dependent on experience and qualifications.
