Thanks in large part to Majeid Crawford’s leadership as Executive Director of the New Community Leadership Foundation (NCLF), what began as a grassroots movement to combat displacement and disenfranchisement among San Francisco’s Black communities in the Fillmore and beyond has now grown into a vehicle for change by preserving vital community landmarks and advocating for community benefits. The passion and hard work of Majeid and the NCLF team has generated $1 million for the preservation of the Fillmore Mini Park and led to the activation of the long-dormant Fillmore Heritage Center by building bridges between community members and the City government.
