Through a competitive process, the SF Mayor’s Office of Housing awarded the development of Parcel “O” in Hayes Valley to SFHDC. Designed by Leddy Maytum Stacey Architects and Paulett Taggart, initial plans for the project yield 108 low-income family rental units, with a 20% set aside for formerly homeless households. The development will offer multiple community and resident spaces, including a garden and courtyard. SFHDC will also have a small, satellite office to coordinate financial empowerment and community activities at the site. Ecumenical Community Services will provide the enriched services for formerly homeless clients.
At a groundbreaking ceremony attended by Acting Mayor London Breed, representatives from the Bank of America, the California Department of Housing and Community Development, the Hayes Valley Neighborhood Association, and the Mayor’s Office of Housing, the development partners moved some dirt in celebration of building what promises to be a beautiful addition to the neighborhood.
