Alice Griffith Phase I
SFHDC is partnering with McCormack Baron Salazar (MBS) to build the very first affordable housing parcel at the Alice Griffith public housing redevelopment project in the Bayview. SFHDC will be the Managing General Partner of the tax credit limited partnership for this 93-unit rental project for low- and very low-income families. Construction began in 2015 with a groundbreaking celebration in April.
Located in southeast San Francisco in the Candlestick Point area, the Alice Griffith Neighborhood is home to 256 public housing units approximately 22.5 acres of land. Constructed in 1962, the current housing stock is in dire need of rehabilitation. Located near the decommissioned shipyard, an aging football stadium for the 49ers, and many acres of a coastline landfill, Alice Griffith is quite isolated from the rest of the city, lacking access to social services, jobs, and other amenities typically found in San Francisco neighborhoods. The new developments will include supportive services to address the current needs of the residents such as transportation access, health/wellness education, and job training.
