A native of San Francisco (Silver Terrace, Bayview and Portola), Deven has over 15 years of housing and community development experience in both the non-profit and government sectors. Prior to joining SFHDC, Deven served as the Director of Real Estate Development at Habitat for Humanity Greater San Francisco for over six years, and was responsible for developing over 100 affordable ownership homes in Marin, San Francisco and San Mateo Counties. Prior to Habitat, Deven worked full-time as a licensed REALTOR in the Bay Area and has held a real estate license since 2004. Previously, Deven spent 14 years working for several departments of the City and County of San Francisco, including Public Health, Human Services, and the Mayor’s Office on Homelessness, where, under former Mayor Willie L. Brown, he served as the Deputy Director. Deven is a volunteer member of the Old Skool Café advisory committee, Chair of Housing Leadership Council of San Mateo County, and a member of the Board of Trustees at the Uptown Church of Christ. He attended All Hallow’s Grammar School in the Bayview, and Saint Ignatius High School in the Sunset.
